Three co-founders. One economist, one computer scientist, one mathematician. One shared standard of excellence.
The Eight wasn't built by an institution. It was built by three teachers who got tired of watching talented students get lost in overcrowded classrooms, watered-down curricula, and schools more focused on managing numbers than developing minds.
Between us, we bring over a decade of Cambridge A-Level teaching, three advanced degrees, and careers that went well beyond the classroom — from Wall Street to Silicon Valley, from academic research to software development. We chose to come back to teaching because we believe it's the most important thing we can do.
We keep our cohorts small by design. Eight students. Not because we can't scale, but because we won't. Every student here gets our full attention, every lesson, every week.
Co-Founders
Co-Founder & Economics
A-Level & IGCSE Economics · Cambridge Certified · M.Sc. Management, Boston University
Robert spent two decades in business before teaching — managing international operations at UPS in Miami, leading digital marketing for the financial arm of Galeries Lafayette in Madrid, and heading client acquisition at Charles Schwab in San Francisco.
For the past five years he has prepared students for Cambridge A-Level and IGCSE Economics at CIS International School of Tunis, where he also served as Head of Humanities.
He co-founded The Eight because he believes the best education happens when teachers are genuinely free to teach.
Co-Founder & Computer Science
A-Level Computer Science · PhD in Computer Science
Rania holds a PhD in Computer Science and has spent seven years working simultaneously as a university instructor and a software developer — which means she doesn't just teach programming, she does it.
She has built web applications, led development teams, and trained professionals across multiple institutions in Tunisia. She brings the rare combination of deep technical knowledge and the ability to make it accessible.
At The Eight, she teaches the Cambridge 9618 syllabus the way it should be taught — as a gateway to real-world problem solving, not just exam performance.
Co-Founder & Mathematics
A-Level & IGCSE Mathematics · M.Sc. Mathematics, University of Tunis El Manar
Houssem graduated with Highest Honors in both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Data Science. His research took him to Linnaeus University in Sweden, where he presented at international conferences on stochastic analysis.
He has been teaching mathematics for five years, from secondary school to university level, building a reputation for patience and precision with even the most demanding material.
He co-founded The Eight and teaches the way mathematicians think — with precision, patience, and a genuine belief that any student who works hard enough can get there.
We could each teach privately. We chose not to. Because alone, none of us could offer a student a complete sixth form experience.
Together, we offer something no single tutor can — three elite teachers, three subjects, one coherent program, one shared standard of excellence.
Alone, each of us is a great teacher.
Together, we are something a student can build a future on.
